Harold Rettig

He was born on January 10, 1937, in rural Sikeston, MO to the late Otto William and Bertha Caroline Wagoner Rettig.

On November 20, 1959, in Morehouse, MO he married Mary McAnulty Rettig who survives of the home in Sikeston, MO.

Harold farmed in Southeast Missouri; farming was his trade, but his family was his past time. He loved to spend time with his children and grandchildren. He never came across a motor that he couldn’t make run. Tinkering with go-karts, motorcycles, and old cars gave him great joy. He will be greatly missed by all those who were part of his life. May he soar with the wings of an eagle forever, (Isaiah 40:31).

In addition to his wife, Mary of sixty-five and a half years, he is survived by two sons, Allan (Karen) Rettig of Sikeston, MO and David (Beverly) Rettig of Sikeston, MO; one daughter, Tonya Rinda of Cape Girardeau, MO; nine grandchildren, Justin Rettig, Carter Rettig, Austin Rettig, Taylor Michelson, Aaron Rinda, Madison Rettig, Natalie Rinda, Ragan Rettig and Brittney Rettig; four great-grandchildren, Teagan Anderson, Dylan Rettig, Emmalyn Rettig and Shiloh Rettig and one great-granddaughter, Scarlett Michelson, expected soon.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one grandson, Nathan Rettig, two great-grandchildren, Hudson Rettig and Jett Otto Rettig; two brothers, Sherman Rettig and Laverne Rettig; five sisters, Cleo Rettig, Willene Miller, Sadie James, Lola Adcock and Dorothy Brodderick.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 6, 2025, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel in Sikeston, MO where the funeral service will be held on Wednesday, May 7, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. with Bro. Larry Lacey of Trinity Gospel Church in Sikeston, MO, officiating.

Burial will follow in the Memorial Park Cemetery in Sikeston, MO.

The pallbearers will be Justin Rettig, Carter Rettig, Austin Rettig, Aaron Rinda, Ron Miller and Roy Miller.
