

Hershall Lee Murphy, age 75, of Sikeston, died February 15, 2016, at the Bertrand Nursing Center. Born July 9, 1940, in Matthews, to the late John and Joyce Yates Murphy, he was retired following 18 years of service at Triangle Wire & Cable in Sikeston. He was a member of the Shady Acres Church of Christ in Sikeston, and was a First Aid and CPR instructor for the American Red Cross for 10 years. He had been a member of the Missouri National Guard Infantry #140 of Sikeston. On April 14, 1961, in Tanner, he married Eva Warren, who survives of the home.
Additional survivors include: one son and daughter-in-law, Warren Lee and Wendy Murphy of Sikeston; one daughter and son-in-law, Pennie and Jeff Robey of Sikeston; three brothers, Hubert Murphy of Cape Girardeau, James Murphy of Luckey, Ohio and Micheal Murphy of Sikeston; three sisters, Irene Schneider of Poplar Bluff, Judy Myatt of the state of Ill. and Linda Taylor of Nalcrest, Fla. Also surviving are five grandchildren, Brandon Murphy, Sarah Cook, Sam Cook, Brad Robey and Chris Robey; and four great grandchildren, Leevi Stanley, Jaxon Allen, Gracie Murphy and Cord Robey.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers and four sisters.
Visitation will be held from 5 – 8 p.m. on Wednesday at the Nunnelee Funeral Chapel, where funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. on Thursday, February 18, with Pat Hogan and Johnny Hester, ministers of the Shady Acres Church of Christ, officiating.
Private interment will be held at a later date.
