Jackelene "Jackie" Day, 49, of Sikeston died June 2, 2011 at the Missouri Delta Medical Center. She was born on December 9, 1961 in Dexter, MO to the late Curt and Ina Mae Byrd Evans. She was a homemaker, and attended the Illinois Avenue General Baptist Church in Sikeston. On September 27, 1997 in Matthews, MO she married Danny Day who survives of the home.
She is survived by two sisters; Ruby Starks of St. Louis and Carolyn Evans of Sikeston; and five brothers, Jack Evans of Sikeston, Travis Evans of Hawaii, Bobby Evans, Terry Evans and Larry Evans, all of Sikeston. She was preceded in death by one brother, Curt Evans.
Visitation will be on Saturday, June 4, 2011 from 11:00am until the time of funeral service at 2:00pm at the Nunnelee Funeral Chapel. Rev. Johnie Sliger of the Illinois Avenue General Baptist Church will officiate. Burial will follow in the Garden of Memories Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Tim Evans, Tracy Evans, Steven Evans, Larry Evans Jr., Curtis Evans and Chuck Kaminsky.
