He was born on July 27, 1956 to the late Eugene and Dora Carlisle Ray.
James worked as a farmer all of his life for Parker Brothers and Doug Scott.
He is survived by one son Christopher (Jamie) Ray of Sikeston, MO.; his high school sweetheart Teresa Baccus of Fairview Heights, IL.; and special fur baby Honey.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
