July 22, 1946 – March 1, 2018
Jane Atchison Kirk, age 71, died suddenly and unexpectedly on Thursday, March 1, 2018, while traveling with one of her children.
She was born on July 22, 1946, in Washington D.C. to the late Mildred “Mickey” and Ellis Atchison. After graduating from high school, she attended the University of Missouri in Columbia.
Jane was treasurer of The Homestead Distributing Company in Sikeston, Missouri, and a member of Compassion Church in Sikeston. Jane was an avid golfer; she was elected President of the Women’s Golf Association at the Sikeston Country Club exactly 25 years after her mother held the same honor. Her pride, passion, and joy, however, was the time she spent with her four daughters and their children. Nobody messed with her kids or grandkids!
Jane is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Tiffany and Clemens Kyllmann and their children Lucas, Mathias, and Annabelle of Gurnee, Illinois; her daughter and son-in-law Allison and Jess Griffiths and their daughter Alexandra of Park City, Utah; her daughter and son-in-law Molly and Tim Gray and their children Laila and Ethan of St. Louis, Missouri; her daughter Natalie Kirk of Sikeston and Natalie’s financé Chris Davison; her sister and brother-in-law Shelley and Tom Fay of Spring, Texas and their children Holly McKinney, Honey Dunlap, and Hobie Higgins; her brother and sister-in-law Charles and Dana Atchison of Sikeston, Missouri, and their children Nichole Blanton, Ellis Charles “EC” Atchison, Laura Thompson and Clark Atchison.
Visitation will be held on Friday, March 9, 2018 from 11: a.m. until time of the funeral service at 1:00 p.m. at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel, Frank Worthington, pastor of Compassion Church in Sikeston, MO., officiating.
Burial will follow at Forest Hills Memorial Gardens in Morley, MO.
Pallbearers will be Clark Atchison, EC Atchison, Chris Davison, Jess Griffiths, Hobie Higgins and Troy Wade.

I've waited to the last day to write something. How do you talk about someone who meant the world to you and you have not spoken to her is months. You want to tell her how much she means to me and how many wonderful memories we had together.
I met Jane when we were about 25 and became best friend in the first minute. Jane was the one who saved my life and the life of my son. She never left my side and I felt safe with her beside me. We have been through divorces and helping each other raise our children. She , Shelley and Tom flew into Hawaii to see me and we had the most fun time. Jane was always with me even if we did not talk for months.
I know Jane is in heaven and will talk to God when it is my time to walk through the gates. I can't wait to see her again and be together for ever.
God I want to talk to you just one more time. I love you Jane and I'll keep track of the girls.
Always in my heart, Candi
