Born in Lamar, Arkansas, on December 27, 1936, to the late William F. and Birdie Ozella Yarbrough. Jesse moved to Sikeston as a young child, living there nearly his entire life. In 1958, he married the love of his life, Jerrie Marie Hudson, spending 59 years together until her passing in 2017.
He worked at Steward Steel Supply for over 40 years; beginning as a welder, advancing to shop foreman, and retiring as inside sales manager in 2002. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, sparking his passion for collecting vintage fishing ephemera and preserving angling history.
Jesse was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Jerrie; his parents; and three brothers, Francis Leroy, Billy Gene, and William Harold.
He is survived by two sons: James (Jean) Yarbrough of Sikeston; John (Sharon) Yarbrough and granddaughter Kei Yarbrough of Austin, Texas; grandson Julian (Destiny) Yarbrough and great-grandson Morgan Yarbrough; and step-granddaughter Laura Polk and step-great-grandson Dylan (Emily) Nobles of Sikeston.
Visitation will be held on Friday, July 10, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. until time of funeral service at 11:00 a.m. at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel in Sikeston, with burial to follow at Sikeston Memorial Park cemetery.
