
Jewell Crawford, 87, of Sikeston, died March 8, 2012 at the Cape Girardeau Veterans Home. Born November 20, 1924 in Pollard, AR, to the late Chappie and Ada Grissom Crawford, he was a carpenter for over fifty years, and had been employed by Matthews Farms, Inc. He was a member of the Murray Lane Baptist Church in Sikeston and a US Army Veteran. In 1946, in Piggott, AR, he married Dolores Husher, who survives of the home.
In addition to his wife, survivors include: two daughters, Suzanne Rennier of Sikeston and Sally Scales of Warner Robins, GA; one brother, Bobby Crawford of Flat Rock, MI; and two sisters, Thelma Johnson of Benton, KY and Velma Ruth Litchford of Sikeston.
One brother and one sister preceded him in death.
Graveside services will be held Monday, March 12, 2012, at 2:00pm at the Garden of Memories Cemetery in Sikeston, with the Rev. Kelley Grubbs, pastor of Murray Lane Baptist Church of Sikeston, officiating. Full military honors will be provided by the Missouri Military Funeral Honor Guard Unit.
