Jimmie Ray Worth, age 80, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 30, 2025, at St. Francis Medical Center. He was born on May 20, 1945, in Wardell, MO, son of the late Clarence Frank and Velma Mansker Worth.
Mr. Worth served in the U.S. Navy from August 19, 1963 to August 18, 1967. He was installed in the Attack Squadron 165 NAS as a Jet Aircraft Servicer (air trans) in Whidbey Island located in Puget Sound, Washington State and finished his last assignment in the Attack Squadron 165, FPO in San Francisco, California where he was honorably discharged.
A proud veteran of the U.S. Navy, he served in the Vietnam War where he received the Armed Force Expeditionary Medal. He also was a recipient of the Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, and the National Defense Service medal while serving his term in the U.S. Navy. In addition, during his time in the Navy he completed Naval Training courses for Airman, Aviation Storekeeper 3 & 2, Aviation Machinist's Mate (R) 3 & 2, and Aviation Machinist's Mate (J) 3 & 2 where he exceeded in all areas.
After serving his time in the U.S. Navy, Jimmie spent his career life owning and operating Jim Worth’s Trucking. He enjoyed the outdoors hunting and fishing and was a member of Lakeville Masonic Lodge #489 for almost 50 years.
He is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, William Craig Worth (June) of Benton; Michael Lynn Worth (Michelle) of Sikeston; one daughter and son-in-law, Amber Worth (William) Deane V of Sikeston; eight grandchildren and their spouses, Jessica (Gatlin) Hopkins, Stephanie (Ethan) Yamnitz, McKenzie (Jenna) Worth, Marissa Worth, Max Worth, Collin Lape, William “Harrison” Deane VI, and Stella James Deane; and three great-grandchildren. Included is his beloved sister, Wanda Innis, and brother, Clarence "Sonny" Worth.
A private military graveside service will be held Thursday, July 10, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at the Bloomfield Veterans Cemetery at 17357 Stars and Stripes Way, Bloomfield, MO 63825.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
