Jimmy Chappell

He was born on December 31, 1944, in Sikeston, MO to the late William and Beulah Forrest Chappell.

On July 13, 1963, in Sikeston, MO he married Peggy Jean Murdock who survives of the home in Sikeston.

He retired from MoDOT in 2003 after thirty-nine years of service.

In addition to his wife, Peggy, of sixty-three years; he is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, William Odie and Karen Chappell of Sikeston, MO; one brother, Bobby Chappell of Diehlstadt, MO; one granddaughter, Carrie (Matthew) Walker of Sikeston, MO and seven great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four sisters.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 16, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. until time of funeral service at 12:00 p.m. at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel in Sikeston, MO. with Danny Kuykendall, officiating.

Burial will follow in the I.O.O. F. cemetery in Charleston, MO.

Pallbearers will be Odie Chappell, Matthew Walker, Dennis Snider, Michael Johnson, Richard Oliphant Jr and Robert Johnson.
