She was born April 4th, 1947, in Sikeston, Missouri to J.W. and Theda Hartzog. She was a 1965 graduate of Sikeston High School.
In 1964, she married Lynn Lancaster, and they welcomed two children: Jay (Camille) Lancaster of Wildwood, MO and Jamie (Travis) Qualls of Sikeston. She later married George Rand in 1994, who survives the home, and they were married 32 years. She was proud of her two stepchildren: Chuck (Deborah) Rand and Robyn (Brian) Celatka and their families all of the Nashville, TN area. For many years, she ran a retail store in the Sikeston Kingsway Mall, and then worked as a bank teller and as an office manager for various healthcare facilities and businesses around Sikeston.
During her lifetime, she became “Nanny” to 8 grandchildren: Madison Lancaster (Charlotte, NC), Annie Lancaster (Columbia, MO), Grace (Lee) Marsh (Sikeston), Chloe Lancaster (Wildwood, MO), Emma Qualls (Sikeston), Sam Lancaster (Wildwood, MO), Jax Lancaster (Wildwood, MO) and Lori Lancaster (Wildwood, MO). She was blessed with a loving Big Brother John Hartzog, his wife Linda, and two nephews Trey and Ben Hartzog all of Sikeston. She also was blessed with numerous loving cousins including Becky Sadler of Sikeston.
She was a member of Miner Baptist Church, and she enjoyed spending time with family and her dog, Eloise aka “Weezie”.
She is survived by her husband, children, grandchildren, and several special cousins, friends, and family. She was a friend to many, but to us she was Mama & Nanny Jo.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 12th, 2026, from 3:00 p.m. until time of memorial service at 5:00 p.m. at Miner Baptist Church.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.nunneleefuneralchapel.com for the Rand family.
