Joseph Lee "Lee Joe" Campbell, 90, died February 13, 2012, at the Sikeston Convalescent Center. Born July 12, 1922, in Kennett, to the late Rube and Rowena Campbell, he was a retired Missouri Department of Transportation employee and a member of the First Assembly of God Church in Canalou. On September 12, 1940, he married Willia Marie Gillean, who preceded him in death.
He was also preceded in death by one son, Donald Wayne Campbell; one son-in-law, Kenneth Stahl; and one brother, Raymond Campbell.
Survivors include: one son and daughter-in-law, Paul and Leslie Gillean of Sikeston; two daughters and a son-in-law, Ellen and Paul Polley of Sikeston and Jeanie Stahl of Arnold; three brothers, Junior Campbell, Frankie Campbell and Herb Campbell, all of Kennett; one sister, Helen Allen of Paragould, AR; and seven grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
Visitation will be held from 5-8pm Wednesday at the Nunnelee Funeral Chapel, where services will be conducted at 10:30am Thursday, February 16, with Rev. Mike Cartwright, pastor of the Canalou First Assembly of God Church, officiating.
Burial will follow in the Garden of Memories Cemetery. Pallbearers will be: Adam Gillean, Mark McElwain, Chris Bruce, Tim McCrow, Kyle McElwain and James Russom.
