Juanita Ellen Atwell

Juanita Ellen Atwell, 82 of Matthews, died September 18, 2012 at the Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston. Born April 24, 1930, in Marquand, MO, to the late Henry Clarence and Grace Arizona Barrett Stephens, she was a homemaker and member of the First Missionary Baptist Church in Matthews. On October 30, 1948, in Piggott, AR, she married Howard Atwell, who survives of the home. Other survivors include: one son and daughter-in-law, Ronald and Anne Atwell of Verona, MO; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Linda and Wayne Gremard of Sikeston, Tina Goodland and and Bill Cranman of Palm Harbor, FL, and Cheryl Kinder of Matthews; three brothers and one sister. Also surviving are four grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother and one sister. Visitation will begin at 12:00 noon on Friday, September 21, until time of the funeral service at 1:00pm at the Nunnelee Funeral Chapel, with Rev. Chris Polk, pastor of the First Missionary Baptist Church of Matthews, officiating. Burial will follow at the Garden of Memories.

Aunt Juanita was a dear aunt & very sweet lady. As cousin Michael, I have so many fond childhood memories of family get togethers & fun times. Peace be with Uncle Howard cousins, Ron, Linda, Tina, Cheryl & their families @ this time. Love Karen Stephens (Harman's daughter)
