Lisa found deep joy in creating memories with her family, particularly her grandchildren. From riding roller coasters to playing games to hiking, she was a fun grandma up for any adventure.
She devoted her life to helping others and was an integral part of Hope 180 Teen Ministry Center and The Warming Center in Sikeston. Lisa began volunteering from the very beginning for both ministries and was always willing to do whatever was needed to make sure each guest was treated with dignity and respect. She connected with people of all ages and made them feel loved and welcomed. Lisa was the main organizer of Spread Hope Now's "Spread Joy Now" Christmas outreach to deliver gift bags and food to homebound senior citizens who may not otherwise receive visitors during the holidays.
As Sikeston OAKS Center Administrator, Lisa carried out the center’s mission to meet the nutritional and socialization needs of older adults while going above and beyond connecting seniors to needed resources.
Throughout her 39 years as a nurse, she provided outstanding care and was an advocate for her patients.
Her legacy is one of kindness, generosity and community service.
After a lifetime of serving others, her network supported her in big ways in her final weeks of life. She was truly touched by every act of kindness.
Lisa was preceded in death by her parents, Orvel and Judy Hornback Wagner, and her brother, Jonathan Wagner. She is survived by her daughter, Rebekah (Brian) Schnurbusch of Jackson, MO; her son, Rick (Amber) Hicks of Ozark, MO; and her three grandchildren Claire, Kiley and Kori. She is also survived by her sister Carol Franklin of Dickinson, TX; her sister-in-law Angelisa Wagner of Chaffee, MO; and nieces and nephews Jonah (Bailey) Wagner, Christian Wagner, Andy (Laura) Vied, Sarah (Jason) Zeller and Aaron (Shelby) Wagner.
