Lucy Marie Burton

Lucy “Marie” Burton, age 92, formerly of Morley, died December 11, 2013, at the Chaffee Nursing Center. Born April 29, 1921, in Dover, Ark., to the late Virgil and Pearl Smith Towe, she was a homemaker and member of the Morley United Pentecostal Church. On December 28, 1940, in Piney, Ark., she married Delmar Lee Burton, who preceded her in death on December 3, 1984.

Survivors include: two sons and daughters-in-law, George and Judy Burton of Oran and Robert and Brenda Burton of Oran; one daughter and son-in-law, Thurmadean and Jody Storms of Lamar, Ark.; eleven grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; one son-in-law, Bill Lane; and a special niece, Genny Ferguson of Fruitland.

She was preceded in death by one daughter, Frances Lane; five brothers and eight sisters.

Visitation will begin at 12 noon on Saturday, December 14, until time of the funeral service at 2 p.m. at the Nunnelee Funeral Chapel. Rev. David Richborg, pastor of Hope Baptist Church near Bell City, will officiate.

Interment will follow in the New Morley Cemetery.
