Born July 15, 1927 in Fayette County, Alabama to the late Luther and Etma Weeks, she was a member of First Baptist Church of Sikeston. She was united in marriage to Ralph W. Armour on December 31, 1946 in Sikeston. He preceded her in death on March 2, 2009.
She and her husband owned and operated Armour Moving and Storage in Sikeston. She was also employed by Buckner-Ragsdale Clothing Store in downtown Sikeston for many years. She had been an active member of Sikeston Business and Professional Women’s Club.
She is survived by a son, Dan (Sondra) Armour of Sikeston; a daughter, Barbara (Dalton) Shirey of Hope, Arkansas; three grandchildren, Scott (Martina) Shirey of Houston, Texas; Brent (Dr. Cara) Armour of Chelsea, Oklahoma; Dr. Laura Beth (Steve) Martin of Hope, Arkansas; four great-grandchildren, Annabeth Martin, Lydia Martin, Luke Martin, and Isaiah Martin of Hope, Arkansas; and one sister, Linda Eckert of Russiaville, Indiana.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Thomas Weeks; and three sisters, Willie Jo Webster, Betty Jean Byars, and Julia Oldaker.
Visitation will be held on Friday, June 18, 2021 from 11:00 a.m. until time of the funeral service at 12:00 p.m., at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel in Sikeston. Pastor Mathew Vroman of First Baptist Church will be officiating. Burial will follow at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield, Missouri.
Pallbearers will be: Scott Shirey, Brent Armour, Steve Martin, Jim Mason, Mark Crocker and Terry Schaefer.
