Melvin Steward

He was born on October 18, 1961, in Malden, MO to Josh Morris and the late Essie Steward.

He worked at AutoZone in Sikeston, MO for a few years and was a manager at Walmart in Sikeston, MO for many years.

He is survived by three sons, Melvin Jerrell Steward of Cape Girardeau, MO, Brandon Jamal Steward of Cape Girardeau, MO and Jamal Hempstead; one daughter, LaDonna Smith of Clarksville, TN; two sisters, Gracie Morris of Sikeston, MO and Tracie Steward of Sikeston, MO, four grandchildren; one great grandchild and a host of nieces and nephews.

In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by one brother, Ivan Steward.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, August 9, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. until time of memorial service at 12 noon at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel in Sikeston, MO with Bishop Bryon Bonner, pastor of True Vine Ministries in Cape Girardeau, MO.
