

Minnie Lou Ellis, 57, was born on May 24, 1968, in Sikeston, Missouri to Eddie Jean Ellis and late Willie James Ellis, Sr. She was affectionately known to many as “Mamie” by family. Minnie was the second oldest daughter of six children.
Minnie graduated from Sikeston Senior High School in 1986. She was known as a hard worker and dedicated to her jobs. Throughout her life, Mamie was a dedicated and hardworking woman. She worked at Susie’s Bakery Shop, Lambert’s Café, and spent the last 11.5 years employed with Magnum Ice Cream Company. Minnie was baptized and gave her life to God, holding faith close to her heart throughout her journey. In 2018, Minnie became a breast cancer survivor, showing her strength, courage, and determination through one of life’s greatest challenges.
Minnie departed this life on May 1, 2026, at 4:00 a.m. at Missouri Delta Medical Center surrounded by her loving family.
Minnie loved her children and grandchildren dearly. She enjoyed spending time with them and was always willing to help in any way she could. She also loved being around family and friends. Minnie always put the feelings of others before her own and had a giving heart. She was a natural comedian who could brighten any room and put a smile on anyone’s face. Minnie was independent, selfless, generous, and full of love. Her presence filled every space she entered.
In her free time, Minnie enjoyed riding in the car with her sister, Rosemary, cooking, playing bingo, playing cards, watching movies, and visiting with family. Minnie was a quiet person, but her actions spoke louder than words. She created many beautiful memories with those she loved, and her laughter, kindness, and giving spirit will never be forgotten. Minnie’s life was a blessing, her memory a treasure, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Minnie was preceded in death by her father, Willie James Ellis, Sr., and other loved ones who went before her. Minnie leaves to cherish her memory three children: Perry Ellis, Sr. and daughter-in-law Porscha, Dominic Ellis, and Patrice Ellis of Sikeston, Mo; her mother, Eddie Jean Ellis of Sikeston, Mo one sister Rosemary Ellis of Sikeston, Mo and four brothers Willie (Devonna) Ellis of Cape Girardeau, Mo, Robert Lee Ellis of Cape Girardeau, Mo, Cardale (Patrica) Ellis of Hannibal, Mo, Patrick (Tracy) Ellis of Sikeston, Mo. seven grandchildren, MaKenzie Ellis, Perry Ellis, Jr., Aryis Ellis, Aubrey Ellis, Ava Ellis, Priest Ellis, and Elijah Redd; one great-grandchild, Kaijri Ellis, and host nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, co-workers, and friends.
Her love, laughter, and legacy will live on forever in the hearts of her family and friends.
