Mona Lee Taylor McReynolds transitioned from this world to eternal life on December 30, 2019. Born August 24, 1931, at Houston, Arkansas, she was the daughter of the late Floyd E. Taylor and Carrie Susan Spells Taylor. She graduated from Morehouse High School with the class of 1949.
On December 27, 1951, she was married to Bob McReynolds at Blytheville, Arkansas. To this union, three sons were born, and survive her: Dana Stephen McReynolds of Las Vegas, Nevada, Michael Alan McReynolds (Cindie) and Martin Lee McReynolds (Gina) of Sikeston. Other survivors include six grandchildren: Ian Blair McReynolds (Jen) of Batesville, Arkansas, Martin Lee McReynolds II and Anna Christine Lockhart (Kurt) of Nashville, Tennessee, Kaci Lei Deane (Matt) and Ellie Grace McReynolds, of Sikeston, and Paxton Alan McReynolds (Megan) of Verona, Missouri. Great grandchildren surviving include: Colton Alan McReynolds, Rylee Nicole McReynolds, and Chase Keith McReynolds, of Verona, Missouri, Rebekah Lei Deane, Morgan Ross Deane, and Josephine Grace Deane, of Sikeston, and Hadley Claire McReynolds of Batesville, Arkansas. She is also survived by many beloved nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings: one brother, Harold E. Taylor of Washington, and two sisters, Ellen Ward of Texas and Joyce Hise of Missouri.
Mrs. McReynolds was employed by the Bank of Sikeston and the E.C. Matthews family for a total of 45+ years. She retired as Vice President of Human Resources and Trust Officer of US Bank (formerly the Bank of Sikeston). She was a member of Sikeston Community Church where she sang in the choir and as a soloist, and also taught the adult Sunday school class.
Visitation will be held at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel on Saturday, January 4, 2020, from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. Celebration of life will be held at 1 p.m., with Pastor Glen Cantrell officiating; private interment following. Pallbearers will be: Ian McReynolds, Martin McReynolds, Paxton McReynolds, Matt Deane, Kurt Lockhart, Charles Atchison, and Terry Schaefer.
