Monica Gilmer

Monica was born on February 11, 1951, in Bloomfield, MO, to the late Leslie E. and Beulah (Archer) Lee. On September 7, 1974, she married Larry Dennis Gilmer in Canalou MO and began her life as a farmer’s wife.

She was a member of Christ Methodist Church in Sikeston. She enjoyed reading, working jigsaw puzzles, watching Wheel of Fortune, going to lunch with friends, and visiting with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Monica is survived by her children, Chad (Cameron) Parker of Campbell MO, Matt (Michelle) Gilmer of Sikeston, Dana (Danny) Farrenburg of Kewanee MO, and Dona Sullenger of Sikeston; grandchildren Claire Parker, Charlie Parker, Will Gilmer, Tyler Gilmer, Shanan Sturgeon, Shane Bewley, Danyel Sullenger, and Harley Sullenger; and 5 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded by her husband Larry, sisters Lois and Betty, and brother Leslie Jr.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 6, 2025, from 3:00 p.m. until time of funeral service at 5:00 p.m. at Christ Methodist Church located at (Hunter Memorial Presbyterian Church) 723 Allen Blvd, Sikeston, MO with Danny Kuykendall, officiating.
