Norma was a special of mine from the YMCA exercise class. I moved to Chateau Girardeau in 2020 but we had kept in touch by text. She was a special lady. My husband had been an active Gideon. So we are pleased to give a donation in Norma's honor.
Love and prayers to the family.

Joy, Stan and your families:

All I want to say, your Mom was one of the best moms ever, she rarely had anything to say but always had a big smile on her face. Had the pleasure of knowing Stan since 2nd grade where we had the same teachers until we got to our higher level, they separated us with different teachers and classes but that didn't stop our friendship. We double dated with girls dated, the Butrum sisters, Elisa Grady and always seemed to be nice to get home early except one occasion I recall, we got home a bit past midnight, my mom got mad, not sure how Mom Norma thought . Even the summer without my Mom going into our senior year, Stan and I being St. Louis Cardinal fans, we went up to St. Louis and see a game and of course, coming home we got lost and ended up in East St. Louis. Lo and behold, we made it home but not sure how we made it safely but we did. Mom Norma didn't say anything, she just sighed with relief we made it home safely.

Out of my friends i did things with, Greg Shaver's mom Louise and Norma were the last ones here with us. Norma had a long happy life filled with much happiness and am sure surrounded by her children and grand children made her days easier to say goodbye. You never want our parents to go but by life's lessons learned and love to share with others it makes the loss somewhat easier and memories either good or bad, make it us better people for having them in our lives.

I am sending all my love, prayers and huigs to comfort Joy and Stan and their families as they orepare their goodbyes. It is bittersweet knowing Norma is in a better place with her husband John dancing with the Lord and is our new guardian angel watching over us with a big smile.

Rest in peace and enjoy your new destination and spread your wings. Till we meet again!
