

Pauline Britton, 89, of Sikeston, formerly of Bell City, died November 19, 2014, at the Clearview Nursing Center in Sikeston. Born December 30, 1924, in Kennett, to the late Grover and Zuller James, she was a homemaker and member of the Shady Acres Church of Christ in Sikeston. On June 8, 1940, in Kennett, she married Edward Britton, who preceded her in death on May 24, 1980.
Pauline lived on a farm in the Bell City area with her family for most of her life. She loved to reminisce about picking cotton, working in the fields, and picking blackberries and strawberries. She also made delicious fudge and divinity candy, and had many requests for them.
Survivors include: four sons and three daughters-in-law, Robert Britton of Sikeston, Jim and Sharon Britton of Morley, Billy and Louise Britton of Sikeston and Tom and Carol Britton of Bell City; one daughter, Barbara Britton Johnson of Sikeston; 13 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren. Also surviving are one nephew and six nieces.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one grandson, Dexter Alan Britton; one granddaughter, Sherie Lynn Johnson; two brothers, one sister, one stepbrother and one stepsister.
Visitation will begin at 11a.m. until time of funeral services at 12 noon on Saturday, November 22, 2014, at the Nunnelee Funeral Chapel, with Johnny Hester and Pat Hogan of the Shady Acres Church of Christ, officiating.
Interment will follow in the Oak Ridge Cemetery in Kennett.
Pallbearers will be: Robert Britton, Jim Britton, Bill Britton, Tom Britton, Mike Britton and Brent Johnson.
