Phyllis Marks

She was born on December 20, 1945, in East Prairie, MO to the late Landon and Mary Stone Sterling.

On September 7, 1963, in Dorena, MO she married William Marks who preceded her in death on March 15, 2019.

Phyllis worked as a manager for Big Don’s Fireworks in Bertrand, MO and worked for Unilever before her retirement.

She was a faithful member of the Murray Lane Baptist Church in Sikeston, MO.

She is survived by two sons: Randy (Amber) Marks of Sikeston, MO and Glenn (Tammy) Marks of Dexter, MO; one brother, Landon Eugene Sterling Jr. of Wyatt, MO; two sisters, Wilma Lee Ortega of Poplar Bluff, MO and Dorothy Patrick of Wyatt, MO; twelve grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her daughter,Tammy Lynn Humphrey on February 11, 2012.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 2, 2024, from 11:00 a.m. until the time of funeral service at 1:00 p.m. at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel in Sikeston, MO with Rev. Joe McCullough, of Murray Lane Baptist Church, officiating.

Interment will follow in the Dogwood Cemetery in Dogwood, MO.

Pallbearers will be: Justin Marks, Jordan Marks, Caleb Marks, Shawn Marks, Jayden Marks and Jerry Glenn Marks.

Honorary Pallbearers will be: Glenn Marks, Randy Marks, Zachary Marks, Bentley Marks, Carter Jackson and Matthew Marks.
