Richard Thomas Evans Sr., 73, of Sikeston, died April 10, 2012, at the Southeast Health Center in Cape Girardeau. Born December 7, 1938, in Scott County, to the late Elvis and Mary Williams Evans, he retired from the City of Miner Water Department. He served in the U.S. Army in the 101st Airborne Division, and was of Baptist belief. He was a former member of the VFW, American Legion Post 333 and the Sikeston Jaycees. On December 18, 1962, in Sikeston, he married Marilyn “Jo” Vincent, who survives of the home.
In addition to his wife, other survivors include: two sons, Dwayne Bechel and Richard T. Evans, Jr., both of Sikeston; one daughter, Renea Medling of St. Charles; two sisters, Debbie Keith and Sharon Tumbleson, both of Ohio; four grandchildren and one great grandchild.
One brother, Ronnie Evans, preceded him in death.
Visitation will be held from 10:00am Friday, April 13, until time of the memorial service at 11:00am at the Nunnelee Funeral Chapel.
