Rodney Mitchem

Born March 15, 1968, in Dexter, MO, to Richard Mitchem, who survives of Scott City, and the late Norma Jean Watkins Mitchem, he was employed by Medlin Equipment. He was a member of Unity Baptist Church in Benton, MO. On September 10, 1988, in Benton, he married Lisa McCourt, who survives of the home.

In addition to his father and his wife, survivors include: one son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Shelly Roberds of Millersville,MO, two brothers and sisters-in-law, Richard and Naoko Mitchem of Hawaii and Russell and Lisa Mitchem of Bell City; four stepbrothers, David Callow of the state of MS, Shane Callow of Millersville, Ladd Callow of Cape Girardeau and Matt Callow of Jackson; two stepsisters, Cindy Priggel of Oran and Kandy Abner of Marble Hill, and his stepmother, Ella Mitchem of Scott City. Also surviving is one grandson, Dalton Roberds of Millersville.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 2, 2015, at the Unity Baptist Church in Benton, MO. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday June 3, at Unity Baptist Church, with Pastor Dennis Lowe, officiating. Burial will follow at Unity Baptist Cemetery in Benton,MO.
