Vernie Eugene Cummins

He was born on December 12, 1946 in Cape Girardeau, MO. to the late Dillard and Venita Pierce Cummins.

On August 11, 1971 in Miner, MO. he married Anita Diane Berry Cummins who survives of the home in Canalou, MO.

Vernie served in the United States Army from 1967-1971. He retired from Noranda Aluminum Inc. in 2016 after thirty-eight years of service.

In addition to his wife he is survived by one son, Derrick (Crystal) Cummins of Canalou, MO.; five grandchildren, Katelyn (Dustin) Pullen, Augie (Grace) Cummins, Timothy (Macy) Fitzgerald, Austin Blasingain and Teagan Cummins; three great-grandchildren, Sawyer Pullen, Ana Fitzgerald and Owen Fitzgerald.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one great-grandchild, Lyam Fitgerald.

Visitation will be held on Monday, November 8, 2021 from 10:00 a.m. until time of funeral service at 12:00 p.m. at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel in Sikeston, MO. with Bro. Mike Cartwright, officiating.

Burial will follow in the Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield MO. with military honors.

Pallbearers will be Derrick Cummins, Augie Cummins, Austin Blasingain, Timmy Fitzgerald, Dustin Pullen and Chris Kiser.

Honorary pallbearers will be Frank Pierce and Ray Pierce.
