Allen Hart Norris

Allen Hart Norris died on 11 July 2026 at Brooke Grove Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Sandy Spring, Maryland. She was born on 23 April 1931 in Fayetteville, Arkansas, the daughter of the late Humes H W Hart and his wife, the late Lilian Allen Hart, and the granddaughter of the late William C. Allen and his wife the late Cottie Allen, all of Waynesville, North Carolina. She was married 21 July 1957 in the First Baptist Church in Waynesville to the late John Armistead Norris of Charlottesville, Virginia, son of the late Thomas Fendol Norris and the late Sallie Bland Armistead. She graduated from WTHS in 1949 and Meredith College in 1953. She worked for 39 years at the National Security Agency at Fort George G. Meade, Maryland, retiring in 1992 as a Senior Cryptanalyst. She was also active for many years in the field of genealogy. She was proud to be a life member of the Daughters of the American Revolution. She and her husband lived in Silver Spring, Maryland. She is survived by her nephew Daniel Hart and his wife Heidi, a great niece Shannon Hart and her two sons, a great nephew Timothy Hart and his wife Brianna and their children, and a great nephew Tyler Hart.

A visitation at Hines-Rinaldi Funeral Home in Silver Spring, Maryland will be held on July 17 from 3-5 PM and from 6-8 PM. Funeral and interment will be the following week in Waynesville, North Carolina
