On Thursday, September 11, 2025, Alvin M. Garfinkle of Clermont, FL peacefully passed away in Alexandria, VA of natural causes after close to 98 years of life. Alvin was a native of Washington, D.C., the beloved son of Daniel and Betty (Sean) Garfinkle. He is survived by his beloved wife, Viola Garfinkle. Cherished father of Stuart Garfinkle, Cynthia Everhart, Angela (Joey) Tucker, Nancy (Dwight) Day, and Karen Richman (predeceased). Proud grandfather of Harper Garfinkle (Rotimi Adeoye), Jason (Millie) Everhart, Ashley (Jimmy) Everhart, Matthew (Brianna) Barley, Steven Barley, Brandon Barley, Scott (Colleen) Barley, Jamie (Maceo) Mantooth, David (Loren) Roberts and Jessica (Alan) Noel. Alvin was forever close with his younger brothers Stanley (Harriet) Garfinkle and Edward (Frances) Garfinkle. Alvin loved all of his several great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
