Areti E. Tzamaras

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Areti E. Tzamaras on January 27, 2026, at the age of 83. Areti was born and raised in Gorgianades, Karpenisi, Greece and came to the United States shortly after marrying the love of her life, Evangelos Tzamaras in 1970. She lived a life marked by deep devotion to her family. Areti touched the lives of everyone who had the honor of knowing her; her selflessness, warmth, and generous spirit will be remembered forever. She leaves behind a legacy of love, strength and compassion that lives on in all of us.

She is survived by her husband, Evangelos Tzamaras. Children, Pantelis Tzamaras (Carolyn Creel), Dimitri Tzamaras (Rebecca Tzamaras), Eleni Valenzuela (Alex Valenzuela). She is survived by her brother, Serafim Raikos (Fotini Raikos) and Grandchildren, Anthony Valenzuela, Evangelos Valenzuela, Areti Valenzuela, Areti Tzamaras and Evangelos Tzamaras. She was preceded in death by her parents: Nikolas & Christina Raikos and her siblings, Frederiki Kakouras, Aggeliki Raikos and Dimitri Raikos.

The viewing and funeral services will be held at 10:00am on Friday, February 6, 2026, at St George Greek Orthodox Church, Bethesda, MD 20817.
