Wish I has a picture to share today. However I have images of Bruce in my mind that I have not forgotten. Wherever you are in the universe Bruce may you be there with the understanding that we will all be there to join you some day but until then may your spirit be kept alive in all that we do for our own families, friends and fellow human beings of all  skin colors, creeds and sociological origins.

I've searched for just the right words to say today in my remembrance of Bruce.  I'm sure they will come to me after I finish writing this short remembrance.  Well here goes, I remember when we were in schools together, simply saying his nickname, The Lev, seemed to embrace a moment of respect for him as person and his name which he well represented.  I remember how he loved and respected his parents and adored his sister.   He was a devoted friend to his group of buddies (at an early age I recall how well liked he was and his group included Elliott Hannan, Stephen Sadov,  George Stone, Arthur Salzberg and Gary Hoffman among others...my apologies for leaving anyone else out of this short list but my own cognitive powers have diminished over time and I cannot recall them all) , and for those other great guys and especially the wonder"girls" who were part of Our Gang or Tribe or whatever you might want to call it (I might give mention to Brian Raff and Steve Karr as being elder statesman in a way and remember Michael Blakeman as being part of our group to a certain extent), in a way we formed a very viable core group of  talented individuals who grew up in the  Rock Creek Forest and Chevy Chase neighborhoods around Ohr Kodesh Congregation (nee MCJC).  I remember we started at Rock Creek Forest Elementary, then went to Kensington Junior High and then graduated from Bethesda-Chevy Chase Senior High(nee MCJC).   Bruce enjoyed being a part of the group and was a solid dresser. He took pride in looking his best and setting a good example.  Most of all, I believe we all deeply respected his caring nature, enjoyed his cheerfulness, and his humility to praise others for their achievements without focusing on his own.  We all shall meet again someday, somewhere, in another place or time.  I hope just not too soon.  Your family, your loved ones and your friends will always remember you for your good cheer, caring nature and your kindness to others.

Good bye to the Lev. Hearing of your passing today filled me with sorrow but brought back memories of our childhood at Rock Creek Forest Elementary School, Kensington Junior High and B-CC where we tried to blend youthful exuberance, grid iron workouts and the Jewish experience to honor our families and support each other's hopes and ambitions to find our places  in the world. Here's to you my friend. Miss seeing your smile and hearing your cheerful voice again.  Rest in peace. Today I am filled with  grief.. Tomorrow I hope this remembrance can share my memories  of you with others who remember you as being the epitome of a friend who was alwys willing to lend a helping hand and share good humor.



I knew Bruce for years.  Bruce was one of the good guys out there for me.   It is sad his time was cut short.   He lived his life fully till very near the end and that was good.

So sorry to hear of Bruce's passing.  Sending peaceful thoughts and remembrances of our happy childhood days in your time of loss. May his memories bring you happiness.

So sorry to hear of Bruce's passing.  I worked with him at 3M in the old Office Supply Division.  He certainly was passionate and never shy to share his thoughts.  He was also supportive and appreciative whenever help was given.  I can still hear his voice.  He will be missed.
