

Born January 13, 1926 in Taishan, China. At age 9, Bucky moved to Hong Kong. Two year later, at age 11, Bucky left Hong Kong to join his father, who had previously immigrated to New York, in the US. Bucky and his father, later moved to Washington, DC and opened a laundry business. Bucky attended high school in DC and entered the US Army during World War II. He served in the Army Air Corp as a glider plane mechanic, stationed in Austin, Texas. A few years after the end of the war, Bucky went back to China and met his wife to be, Jane. They married shortly and moved Washington, DC to begin a new chapter in their lives. Bucky and Jane raised two children, Herbert and Constance. As restaurateurs, Bucky and his wife owned and operated several Chinese restaurants in DC and Maryland. After retirement, Bucky and Jane enjoyed traveling and spending time with family and friends. Bucky is survived by his wife, of over 70 years, Jane, his son Herb, his daughter-in-law, Lani, and granddaughter, Amanda. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Constance and grandson, Andrew.
