Dan and I were members of the Ancient Numismatic Society of Washington DC. We met through the society and became friends. We would often talk about coins and other things. Dan came on a trip to Bulgaria, which I organized for the numismatic society. He really enjoyed the trip. From Sofia he left for Rumania, the country of his birth. He was very excited that he would visit Brashov, the town where he was born. He was also very happy and excited to move to Florida. When he moved there, we texted and stayed in touch through Facebook. It is really sad to lose a friend. I will miss him. Deepest condolences to his mom and his dad and all his other friends. Rest in peace, Dan.

Dan and I met indirectly at Guilford. He was a name everyone knew. We swam in the same circles but it wasn’t until he reached out to me while I was living in Bucharest and we got a traditional romanian meal, and played cards at his hotel that I got to know him. In the 18 months I lived there he was one of the few people who came to Romania and reached out to say hi. He gave me a little wooden Bulgaria vase i initially used to house euro coins, now it’s on my dresser that I look at everyday.  I put a Romanian coin in it last night in honor of Dan. Since June 2019, I’ve thought about Dan every day I see that vase. It will be a permanent fixture on all future vanity’s.

Rest In Love My Friend. 

Dan,

What a great friend he was to me. We met at the Montgomery County Coin Club 3 years ago and have been friends ever since. We  both bought a house recently around the same time and were sharing the fun of owning a house. Giving tips to one another. Can’t believe he is gone…..he will be missed. 

Dan, was a great friend that always listened and cared. Thank you for the memories Dan.

We spent the first 2 years of college together. We shared a dorm, we shared food, we shared friends, we shared laughter. You were not quite like everyone else but that is what made you remarkable. 

I remember when you called me a marshmellow and when we threw snacks at each other. I remember when you would come to my Hillel Shabbat services and support me. I remember dressing up for Halloween. And of course I remember the megladon tooth. 

You were one of the coolest and most interesting people I have ever met. You faced the world with a sense of pride and excitement that was contagious. 

You made life fun. 

I will miss you forever.


Dan worked for me for a few years and was valuable.  My most sincere condolences to the entire Albert and Greene family.
