

Edward W. Brooks a Washington D.C. resident, born May 2nd 1929 at Freeman’s Hospital in Washington D.C., was 96 years old and peacefully passed away at Virginia Hospital Center on Friday the 13th of March at 4:30 PM with is family by his bedside. He served in the military from the 29th of March 1951 until July 30th 1956 and was honorably discharged from the Army Reserves attaining the rank of Corporal. He was previously married to Jean L. Brooks until the late 1970s. He is survived by his loving friend and partner of 38 years, Nancy Peterson, his two sons Mark and Edward Brooks, his daughters-in-law Imelle Brooks and Elizabeth Brooks, and his four grandchildren.
Dad had worked at the Internal Revenue Service for a number of years as a draftsman and his final position before he retired was as the Deputy Chief of the Property Management division for the Department of Treasury. He was an avid reader, accomplished musician, artist, draftsman, and a competitive marksman. He was a very interesting and intelligent man. Our father will be missed by his family and friends.
