Passed away peacefully surrounded by family on May 19, 2016. Beloved wife of John Canard; devoted mother of Maria Bifsas (Vasili) and Paula Murshed (Munzer); loving grandmother of Niko, Savvas, and Effie Bifsas; cherished sister of Eleni Antoniades and John Maroulis. She is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, relatives and friends. Family will receive friends on Monday, May 23, 2016 from 4 to 8 p.m. with a Trisagion service scheduled at 7 p.m. at Hines and Rinaldi Funeral Home, 11800 New Hampshire Avenue, Silver Spring, MD 20904. Viewing from 10:30 to 11 a.m.; followed by funeral service on May 24, 2016 at St. Theodore''s Greek Orthodox Church, 7101 Cipriano Road, Lanham, MD 20706. Interment will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery, Suitland, MD. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Effie''s memory to St. Theodore''s Greek Orthodox Church at the address above.
