Eileen Frances Cole

Eileen Frances Cole, age 84, beloved wife of Floyd Benton Cole, III, passed away peacefully at his side in Chevy Chase, Maryland on Monday, June 8, 2026. Mrs. Cole, the older daughter of Frank, Jr. and Alice Catherine (Henne) Pfeiffer, was born August 11, 1941 in Jamaica, Queens, New York. She graduated from Clearwater (FL) High School before receiving her Bachelor's degree from the University of Florida and a Master's in Library Science from the University of Maryland. For more than a decade, she worked as a librarian at Vitro Corporation in Aspen Hill, MD.

Mrs. Cole is survived by Dr. Cole, her high school sweetheart, whom she married in 1963. She is also survived by their daughters Katherine Cole Douglas (John), Cheryl Cole Holland (Michael) and Angela Elizabeth Cole, grandchildren Alice Douglas Solomon (Michael), Sarah Douglas, Colben, Ryan and Caitlyn Holland, great-grandson Michael Solomon, and her sister, Doris (Pfeiffer) Mainville.

A celebration of her life will take place on Tuesday, June 16 at 10:00 AM at the Gate of Heaven Cemetery Chapel in Silver Spring, MD, with private internment immediately following the service.
