Giorgio Basso-Luca

On Friday, June 26, 2015, Dr. Giorgio Basso-Luca of Silver Spring, MD. Beloved husband of Carla Basso-Luca; father of Paolo (Celine) Basso-Luca, Marco (Katherine) Basso-Luca; grandfather of Melissa, John Paul, Mary Claire, Matthew and Mitchel; brother of Tini (Adriana) Basso-Luca; uncle of Stefano and Nicola Basso-Luca. Dr. Basso-Luca was born in Giais, Italy a small town in the province of Pordenone. He grew up in Italy and immigrated to the United States in 1959 on an academic scholarship to Georgetown University where he received a BA in Linguistics. Later he returned to Georgetown where he earned an MA in Philosophy and a Ph.D. in Russian Studies. He worked as an analyst for the Department of Defense for 32 years. The family will receive friends on Monday, June 29, 2015 at HINES-RINALDI FUNERAL HOME, 11800 New Hampshire Ave., Silver Spring, MD from 5 to 8 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, June 30, 2015 at St. John the Baptist Church, 12319 New Hampshire Ave., Silver Spring, MD at 10 a.m. Interment Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
