With heavy hearts, we gather to celebrate the life of Gregorio Funes who peacefully passed away on July 21st, 2026. Though our hearts are broken by his loss, we are deeply grateful for the love, memories, and lasting impact he leaves behind.
Gregorio was a devoted father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend whose strength, kindness, and generous heart touched the lives of so many. He found great joy in the simple things, especially spending time fishing, where he felt at peace and close to nature.
In his younger years, he proudly served as a Merchant Marine, embracing adventure and hard work while traveling the seas. Later in life, he became a skilled painter by trade, taking pride in his craftsmanship and the work of his hands. Whether on the water with a fishing rod or on a job site with a paintbrush, he approached life with dedication and purpose.
He will be remembered for his caring spirit, quiet strength, sense of humor, and the unconditional love he had for his family. His greatest legacy is the love he shared and the lives he touched.
He is survived by his devoted wife Delmy Patricia Martinez Funes loving children, Lori Funes Zayas De Jesus, Melissa Funes, Briana Funes, Abigail Funes Smith, Giselle Funes & Gregorio Raul Funes grandchildren, Michelle, Christopher, Ashley, Amy, Angel, Ayven, Phoenix, Luna, Armani, Gerald Smith III, Serenity and Eziah family members, and dear friends, all of whom will forever cherish the memories they shared with him. Though he is no longer with us in body, his love, wisdom, and spirit will remain in our hearts always.
Today we celebrate a life well lived—a man who worked hard, loved deeply, and leaves behind a legacy that will never be forgotten. Though we will miss him every day, we take comfort in knowing that love lives on, and so does his memory.
