Harry Benjamin Pass was born in The Bronx, New York, on December 7, 1946 and passed away on October 4, 2026. He was 79 years old. He was predeceased by his parents, Abraham and Ruth Pass, and his brother, Joel Pass. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Virginia, and their daughter, Julia, and son-in-law, Jim.
After graduating from Taft High School in The Bronx in 1964, Harry attended Harpur College in Binghamton, New York, graduating with a B.A. in Philosophy. A couple of years later, he began a long career as a dedicated civil servant working for the federal government. He retired in the early 2000s.
Harry enjoyed good food, good music, and good films. Nothing made him happier than a savory paella or bowl of mussels. He played the piano and the guitar and liked noodling around on both. His taste in music was wide-ranging, from jazz, blues, and classical to rock, folk, and Broadway tunes. A loyal friend and good listener, Harry loved getting together with his buddies, cracking them up with jokes, bons mots, and hysterically funny stories. He spent many happy hours taking long walks with the family’s beloved poodles. He was also an avid and eclectic reader and a superb solver of crossword and acrostic puzzles.
Harry was a sweet and loving soul with a bit of the devil in his eye. He was as decent a human being as a man could be. He will be deeply missed by his loving family and many friends.
