

Ida was born on 08 August 1932 to Fira and Grigoriy Makogon in Dzurin, Vinniza region, Ukraine (former USSR). After Ida graduated from high school in Dzurin she went on to study Tobacco Production at Odessa College of Food/Tobacco Technology.
After graduating with a degree in Tobacco Technology, she started her first job at Urizkiy Tobacco Factory in St.Petersburg, Russia (former Leningrad, USSR) as a technologist.
In 1964, Ida met Semen Kalnitskiy in Leningrad and later got married. Ida and Semen went on to have two children, Igor and Mikhail. Ida and Semen moved to Siberia in 1965 as Semen was serving in military. Ida worked as a Labor Union Leader in military construction organization until her retirement and departure to Dnepropetrovsk, Ukraine (former USSR) in 1985.
After her retirement, Ida dedicated herself to community service in a local Jewish organization responsible for the group of Holocaust survivors in Dnepropetrovsk.
In 2001, Ida and Semen immigrated to the USA. Ida joined the Adult Day Care Center where she actively participated in and enjoyed different activities.
Ida was predeceased by her husband Semen. She is survived by her sons Igor and Mikhail, sister Yevgeniya, sister in law Zinaida, grandchildren Konstantin, Yevgeniy, Artur, Gloria, daughters in law Klavdia and Lyudmila, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Services will be held at Hines-Rinaldi Funeral Home on 09 February at 12:00pm.
