of Calverton, MD passed away on January 23, 2019. Frank was born in Hungary on September 24, 1933. He migrated to the United States thru Ellis Island in 1939.
He grew up farming in Ohio and earned undergraduate and graduate degrees from Kent State. He served two years in the US Army, including a tour in Germany.
Frank came to Maryland and enjoyed a 35-year teaching career in Montgomery County Public Schools. He was known as a stern but caring educator and mentor.
In 1960 he married Roberta Hagen and remained so until his death. They were active members of the Montgomery County Public Schools bowling league. Frank loved the game and the competition. He was always the first to teach newcomers how to improve their game.
Frank will be remembered for his tough but kind manner, his dry sense of humor and love of a bargain scotch.
Frank was preceded in death by his father Steve in 1977, his mother Barbara in 2000, and nephew, Gary in 2014. He is survived by his wife, Roberta, brother, Nick, sister-in-law, Irene, nieces and nephews Diane, Doug, Steve, Ryan, Kevin, Brandon, Andrew, Nick, Sarah, Payten, Brooklyn, Cash & Finley.
A memorial service will be held at 12 p.m. Monday January 28, 2019 at Hines-Rinaldi Funeral Home in Silver Spring with a viewing at 11 a.m.
