In Loving Memory of Grandma Jackie 🤍

Some of my favorite memories with Grandma Jackie will always be our Sunday dates. We’d spend the day at the arcade, followed by dinner at whatever BBQ spot I was craving. It started with Tony Roma’s, then came Dallas BBQ and Bronx BBQ, just to name a few. Those Sundays were ours.

Our car rides were just as special, riding around listening to her favorite tapes. Gloria Estefan is one artist that will forever remind me of those moments.

I was blessed to have Grandma living just a block away when I lived in New York. I’d frequently stop by before or after school just to say hello or spend time with her. I never needed a reason or a special occasion.

Grandma Jackie is also the reason for my love of cornbread and cornbread muffins. It’s funny how the smallest things become lifelong reminders of someone you love.

One of my favorite recent memories was taking Grandma out on a Sunday date. I asked where she wanted to go, and she chose Dunkin’ Donuts for her cornbread. We sat, ate together, and I drove her around. It may have seemed like such a small outing, but it meant everything to me. After all those years of her taking me places, I finally got to take her out. I’d give anything for one more Sunday like that.

I love you so much, Grandma Jackie. I’ll miss our Sunday dates, late-night talks, music, and all the little moments I wish I could relive.

I’ll think of you every time I hear Gloria Estefan, eat a cornbread muffin, or pass one of our favorite spots.

I don’t know what Sundays will look like without you, but I know you’ll always be a part of mine.

Until we meet again, Grandma. Save me a seat for our next Sunday date.

I love you always. 🤍

My deepest condolences to the family of Mama Jackie Bowen. Mama Jackie was a warm, sweet, caring woman and we will miss her dearly. St. Mary Magdalene has truly lost a great soul! Rest well in the bosom of the Lord, Mama Jackie.

Dearest Mommy Jackie, how I miss you. You have been the cornerstone of my life since 1980. You have always been there for me. You have always been guiding me. You have always trusted me and loved me like no mother could love a daughter.\n You saw through my faults, my weaknesses and my failures And you never once judged me. You would always tell me, don't worry about it, you'll be okay. I look to you for guidance and you have never let me down. You never yelled at me. You never made me feel less than\n You never took me for granted. You loved me unconditionally. Our time spent together.\n It's so memorable, I will, laughter, I would dancing our food.\n Going for breakfast. Just you and I\n You have been such an angel to me.I will miss you so so much.

Mommy Jackie touched countless lives. She was a grandmother to everyone, and even if you weren’t related by blood, her love never made you feel any different. She had a heart full of life, warmth, and unconditional love. One of her greatest joys was dancing especially with strangers who she felt could use a little extra of her light and energy. That was just who she was. She had a way of making people feel welcome, loved, and alive. Her presence was something special and she never needed a reason to shine. She lit up every room she entered, and although she is no longer here with us, I know her light will continue to shine even brighter above. Her love, laughter, and beautiful spirit will live on in everyone fortunate enough to have known her.

Hi DoDo…🤍

I know you’re up there with Uncle Dexter, Grandpa David, and your mommy. You’re finally at peace and watching over us with love. I hope you know how much you mean to all of us and how deeply you’ll be missed. We will continue making you so proud🤍

Your dancing, your stories about your life back home in Trinidad, and all the little moments we shared will always hold a special place in my heart. Our trips to McDonald’s to get your fav.. strawberry milkshakes and a hamburger. our walks to the pool, and you introducing me to guava jelly on crackers 😂 . Those are the memories I’ll cherish forever. It’s funny how the simplest moments become the ones you hold onto the tightest

Thank you for all of the love you’ve shown me and all of the lessons you taught me. Something told me to wear the gold bracelet the day you went to be with God & I did❤️ you’ve been asking me about the bracelet since aunty Dawn gave it to me 😂 now I’ll wear it every day in memory of you. I promise I’ll take care of Bella because I know how much you loveeee your little Bella & how much she loved her Jackie darling.

Until we meet again MJ, I love you 🤍🕊️

My Mommy Jackie, darling, and dancing queen🕊️
You are at peace 💕🕊️

I am so grateful for the years and memories you have given me.

God knew I needed a special kind of grandma and I was blessed with you. 31 years of my life I have spent loving and being loved by you unconditionally and I will spend the rest of my life loving and remembering you in everything I do. Every dance I do and calypso song I hear will always bring a tear to my eyes knowing I won’t get to spend that moment with you.

I remember you you telling me to hurry up and get married so you can be there. Then it was to hurry up and have another baby so you can meet them. Well sweet cakes, you saw my wedding and got to meet my last 2 babies before you left us.

You will be forever missed.

Rest now, do do darling 😢
