Jordan was a beloved son of Paul and Andrea (neé Birnbaum) Lewis, an admired big brother to Ryan (Noah Fleischmann) and loving grandson to Joan Birnbaum and Rhonda Lewis. He was preceded in death by grandfathers Irving Birnbaum and Millet Lewis.
Jordan was born in Potomac, Maryland where he spent his entire childhood. He enjoyed playing with all the children on Coniston Court, going to school, learning karate, riding his bike and exploring the DC area, going to Capital Camps, and participating in many school activities. He adored the family dog, Carmel.
Early on he showed an interest in highways and transportation. He pursued his dreams by going to college at Washington University in St. Louis, where he engaged in engineering studies, was active in Hillel and made lifelong friends. After completing a Master’s degree in Civil/Transportation engineering at the University of California at Berkeley, he started to live his dream of working as an engineer for Dewberry - an architecture, engineering and construction firm which he absolutely loved.
Jordan was a history buff with a special interest in the Civil War. He loved visiting historical sites and was a continuous student of history. He loved being outside in nature, enjoying long walks and hikes, and visiting National Parks and sites. Jordan also loved an adventure, especially road trips with his friends or family, and enjoyed planning itineraries and navigating where to go.
Jordan was a devoted friend to many, who describe him as a good listener, an adventure buddy, who had an insatiable curiosity, an analytical mind, and was a kind and loving soul.
