

Kenneth W. Stark passed away peacefully on Friday, November 28, 2025 at his home in Adelphi, MD surrounded by his loving family. He is survived by his sons Christopher (Vickie) and Kenneth, his son-in-law Jeffrey Elliot, his grandchildren Jessica (Joe), David (Kalyn), Kevin, Kristen (Aaron), Sara, Corey, Hope and Amber and his great grandchildren Joseph, Elsie, Raylynn, and Jamar. He is predeceased by his wife, Theresa Stark, his daughter, Aileen Elliot, and his parents, Peter and Mary Stark.
Kenneth was born on June 20, 1933 in Brooklyn, New York. He was a graduate of Brooklyn Tech High School, City College of New York (1956 - BS Mechanical Engineering), and Catholic University (1965 - MS Aerospace Engineering). After graduation from CCNY, Kenneth served in the US Army Corps of Engineers with rank of First Lieutenant.
He married Theresa, the love of his life, on October 3, 1959 and was married to her for 58 years until her passing on December 16, 2017.
His entire career was spent working in the Aerospace Industry: Reaction Motors (1956-1957), Army Signal Corp. (1958-1959), NASA at Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, MD (1959-1989) and Sachs Freeman Associates (1989-1993). During the course of his career, he was listed as an “author” of six U.S. patents and eight NASA TN publications.
He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. Throughout the years, he was involved at St. Mark Catholic Church in Hyattsville, MD: member of the choir, contributing food for S.O.M.E., helping with their food pantry, serving as an Arimathean at funeral masses, member of their Senior Retiree Club, and was a founding member of the ROMEO club (Retired Old Men Eating Out). For many years, he served as a volunteer at Meals on Wheels, delivering meals to the homebound.
Friends may call at Hines-Rinaldi Funeral Home, 11800 New Hampshire Ave., Silver Spring, MD 20904 on Thursday, December 11th from 2 pm to 4 pm and 6 pm to 8 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, December 12th at St. Mark The Evangelist Catholic Church, 7501 Adelphi Rd, Hyattsville, MD 20783 at 1O am. Interment at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Silver Spring, MD.
