Kevin L Bridgeman

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Kevin Lee Bridgeman, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and dedicated public servant, who departed this life on September 1, 2026, at the age of 69. Born on July 16, 1957, in Washington, DC, Kevin was a shining beacon of strength and compassion throughout his life. He spent more than 22 years proudly serving as a police officer with the Maryland National Capital Park Police, where he demonstrated unwavering commitment to the safety and well-being of his community.

Kevin is survived by his devoted wife, Elizabeth Bridgeman; his loving daughter, Elizabeth Lentz (Chris); and his cherished grandson, Reece Lentz. Also, Kevin’s caring brothers, James (Genie) and Brian Bridgeman; his dear sister, Susan (Michael) Trageser; siblings-in-law Terrie Bridgeman and Dennis Martin; nieces and nephews and their children. Each one of them will forever hold Kevin's memory in their hearts and be grateful for his impact on their lives.

Kevin was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Ulyses and Harriett Bridgeman; brother, William Bridgeman and his sister, Karen Martin.

At the age of 32, Kevin became a police officer with the Maryland National Capital Park Police. Kevin rose to Lieutenant before retiring in 2012. During his career, Kevin received many awards and letters of appreciation for his service. His life and career was characterized by his unwavering integrity, his compassionate spirit and his zest for life that brought joy to all who knew him. A committed member of the Fraternal Order of Police, Kevin embodied the values of service and dedication, leaving an indelible mark on those he encountered.

Kevin had a lifelong love of cars but some of his greatest happiness came from the life he built with his wife, Beth, in Delaware. The beach was more than a place he loved—it became their forever home. Together, they created a life filled with family, friendship, laughter, and countless cherished memories. Kevin embraced the beauty and spirit of beach living, finding joy in the simple moments and in the time, he shared with the people he loved most.

In his most recent months and years, Kevin found joy and excitement cruising with his wife, family and friends. Together, they enjoyed the freedom of the open water, the excitement of discovering new destinations, and the meaningful time they shared along the way. Each cruise brought new adventures, special memories, and an opportunity to simply enjoy life together. These journeys became a cherished part of their life together and gave Kevin something he truly looked forward to. Kevin was also incredibly proud and overjoyed to become a grandfather to Reece. In the four short months he had with him, Reece brought Kevin so much happiness. Seeing his grandson always brought a smile to his face, and the time they shared together was incredibly special to him.

Kevin always had a sense of humor and a special way of making those around him laugh. His quick wit and playful personality were a big part of who he was, and the laughter he brought to his family and friends will never be forgotten. Kevin's legacy of love, loyalty, and duty will forever resonate in our hearts. He will be profoundly missed and never forgotten.
