I met Larry some years ago.  We became great friends up until he moved to Florida.  I often thought of him.  Sorry to hear of his passing.

I met your dad after he moved to Silver Spring. I remember being at your grandparents house in Four Corners numerous times. We became closer toward the end of college and throughout the 70s and into the 80s. He had an apartment off Riggs Road near East-West Highway and my apartment was off Riggs Road behind the Tick Tock. And your mom lived in an apartment right across the street from my apartment with two other girls (women). We were all friends, hanging out together all the time.

Your dad was always the guy with stuff, the best stereo equipment, etc. and later the best video gadgets.  I remember visiting you and your parents at your house off Bonifant with my wife and oldest son. And when I just told my son about your dad, he instantly recalled that visit and the thrill of seeing movies right there in your living room.

Sadly, we got out of touch probably some 30 years ago and only recently randomly heard from Mark Matthews about your dad.

I have very fond memories of your dad and your mom. They were both special people. May both of their memories be a blessing.

Larry Klein was my friend for over 60 years, one of my two best friends for the overwhelming majority of those years.  He is remembered by many of his former classmates through elementary, junior high school, high school and college as being " extremely good looking, personable, friendly, caring and always had a smile on his face".  He would ensure you had a place to stay if you were at odds with your Parents; help you find employment where he worked if you needed a job, and even sacrifice his car to accommodate more people than it was designed to take (Corvair) during spring break trips to Florida. With Larry, no one was left out or left behind.  From 7th grade through 12th grade he was probably the best dressed guy and always had the latest in loafers that were the envy of his friends.  He was a wine connoisseur, an entrepreneur and ultimately became a landmark on a particular beach in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. In 1972  he came to Tunis, Tunisia and visited with his best friend for 4 months.  He was embraced by the American community in Tunisia due to his friendliness and charm. He loved Bonnie Kessler Klein and their daughter, Rachel Klein, deeply.  I am sure he was thrilled to be back in Maryland, close to his beloved and beautiful daughter in his last years.  But most of all, it was his  heart that was the bright shining light that made people gravitate to Larry.  He was Dr. Phil before Dr. Phil.  He was caring, attentive, and did not shy away from helping others in need. He lived " A friend in need, is a friend indeed" I  miss him now and will miss him tomorrow and until we meet up again.  Rest in Peace Larry.

I am so saddened to hear about the passing of Larry.  I met Larry during our high school years and although we lost touch until 9 years ago, his joy, his humor, his impact on me and our circle, has truly endured all time.  We went to see the Box Tops together which was my first hippie concert!!  I feel blessed to have had Larry in the tapestry of my life.  May his memory be a blessing to all that loved him….be at peace my old friend!
