Locksley Almondah Smith

Locksley Almondah Smith, affectionately known by family and friends as Daddy, Grandpa, Laxley, Smitty, Craney, and Uncle Locksley, was born on January 28, 1933, in the Prospect district of St. Elizabeth, Jamaica, West Indies. He was the cherished son of George and Rebertha Smith. Growing up in St. Elizabeth, Locksley later relocated to Kingston to Reside with his sister, Hermine Watson. It was in Kingston that he met and married his beloved wife, Roxie Victoria Dyer-Smith.

In 1983, Locksley migrated to the United States, where he embarked on a long and dedicated career as a crane operator within the construction industry. He found great fulfillment in his work and took pride in his craftsmanship. Outside of his professional life, Locksley enjoyed engaging in various leisure activities, including watching boxing matches, playing dominoes with friends, and most notably, immersing himself in reading the Bible. His unwavering love for God and his family was the cornerstone of his life. His faith and devotion to the Lord were always his top priorities, closely followed by his roles as a devoted husband and father. Locksley was known for his warm and outgoing nature, frequently sharing his faith and speaking about the Lord with anyone willing to listen.

Locksley's earthly journey concluded on Monday, June 8, 2026, at 9:00 a.m. However, prior to his passing, he openly expressed his readiness to enter heaven, demonstrating his unwavering faith and trust in God's eternal promise. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Roxie Smith. Locksley leaves behind a legacy of love through his children: Joy, Patrick, Howard, Grace-Ann, Tyrone, Danny, Darnette, Diana, June, and his daughter-in-law, Tracey, and Shertone. He is also survived by 21 grandchildren,12 great-grandchildren (with three more on the way), his sister Hermine Watson, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and extended family members who will cherish his memory forever.
