Lorenzo D'Avanzo

Lorenzo D’Avanzo, 90, of Washington, DC, passed away peacefully on October 31, 2025. Born in Roseto Valfortore, Foggia, Italy, Lorenzo lived a life marked by dedication to family, faith, and hard work.

He is survived by his loving wife, Maria D’Avanzo; his cherished children, Giuseppe and Clementina D’Avanzo; and his adored grandchildren, Gabriella and Nicholas Cubbage. He is also survived by his dear sister, Gioconda Donna.

Lorenzo was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Giuseppe and Clementina D’Avanzo, and his siblings Rosaria DeFranco, Antonio D’Avanzo, Domenico D’Avanzo, Giacomo D’Avanzo, Lina Leombruni, Battista D’Avanzo and Tettina Russo.

Lorenzo will be remembered for his warmth, generosity, and unwavering devotion to his family. His love and kindness will live on through all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Family and friends will be received on Sunday, November 16, 2025, from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. at Hines-Rinaldi Funeral Home, 11800 New Hampshire Avenue, Silver Spring, Maryland.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, November 17, 2025 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 595 Third Street, NW, Washington, DC.

Burial directly following at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Silver Spring, Maryland.
