Riet grew up in Amsterdam as the youngest of 5 siblings. She obtained a certification of foreign correspondence, and after moving to the US in 1961, she worked at the Dutch Embassy and subsequently as a medical transcriber until she retired in 2007.
She spent her life enjoying a love of tennis, politics, classical music and reading…. and most importantly a deep love of 60 years with her husband Geza (who predeceased her). Riet was a devoted mother to Vivian and Geza M (who also predeceased her) and adored her granddaughter Sophie. She was very proud to become a US citizen in 1993 as well.
Riet is survived by her daughter Vivian (Brown), son-in-law Dave, granddaughter Sophie and relatives in the Netherlands.
