In loving memory of Nancy Elizabeth Ahmed (in keeping with her wishes, you are free to speculate about her age), who passed away on November 5, 2023 in Severna Park, MD. She was born in Chicago, IL, to Swedish immigrant parents, Bert and Alice Sunstedt. She was married to the late Paul I. Ahmed from 1960 until 2008. Nancy and her husband resided in Silver Spring, MD. They traveled the world, traveling to Greece, India, Italy, Egypt, Spain, Morrocco and many other countries.
Nancy received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Art Education from the University of Maryland, College Park. In her profession, Nancy was an art teacher for both private and public schools in Montgomery County, MD. Art was her passion, and her many paintings will be cherished forever. She was a loving mother and Nana, and dedicated her free time to the Church of Our Savior, Hillandale, MD.
She is survived by her three children, Rochelle Woolcock (Bryan), Irene Parker (Darren) and Paul Sunstedt (Kristin), four grandchildren, Kyle Harris, Kara Woolcock, Joseph Woolcock and Alice “Allie” Sunstedt, and two step-grandchildren, Stephanie Parker and the late Jessica Parker. She will forever be missed.
Services will be held at Hines Rinaldi Funeral Home, Silver Spring, MD on November 17, 2023 at 10 am, with a reception to follow. A private burial will be held after at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Aspen Hill, MD.
