My sincerest  condolences to Pete's extensive and loving family with whom I share so many  memories. Living just four houses away, I spent  most of my childhood  playing capture the flag, Greek dodge ball, kickball and all variations  of tag in the Morfessis front yard, the place to have fun; or gathering  together in the kitchen to savor Ya-ya's sumptuous delights.  
Pete,  good friend through many years, may your memory be Eternal. 



We just learned last night (5 April) of Pete's passing.  What a shock. 

I grew up with Pete--our two Greek families four houses apart but close as blood relatives.  Pete was more than a friend, he was  like a brother.  And like a big brother Pete was very generous with  his advice, guidance, wisdom, and sharing of his many skills, especially his considerable talents of his trade.

When I read in his biography here on this site--" His most favored professional project in those years was Ventuno 21 Supper Club, one of Washington D.C.'s first discos"--well, I'm surprised, because his accomplishments were many.  But that that one project was his "most favored" brings strong memories. For you see Pete took me under his wing on that project, entrusting me (and Pete's bother, Jimmy) to work the project as a hired hand.  He taught me much.  And it was not an easy job, but rather a dirty, dusty job, tearing apart the innards of a building that would become a world class club.  And despite the dangers of the task, Pete dove into it with gusto.  Quite an inspiration.

So many other memories...like when many had departed our neighborhood, Pete and I alone would mosey down to the single, rusty basketball hoop at Bannockburn Swimming Pool and shoot endless games of horse basketball.  I think Pete would cheat a bit, letting me win when he could easily beat me with one hand tied behind his back.

May Pete's memory be eternal.
