Rachel Hilary Ostach, 45, passed away peacefully at the Casey House in Derwood, MD on April 29, 2021. She was born July 30, 1975 in Silver Spring, MD. She was the loving and devoted wife of Christopher E. Drell, Washington, DC. She was preceded in death by her father Jeffrey L. Leary, Silver Spring, MD. She is survived by her mother, Marian Ostach and honorary father, Robert J. Houle, both of Silver Spring, MD. Rachel was a leasing consultant most recently for Grady Properties Management, Inc. She was an avid reader and had a love for taking walks through the National Zoo, cheering on the Washington Nationals and was a foodie to no-end! Her non-conformist ways led her to be a free spirit while rocking her favorite pair of Dr. Martens. Rachel’s high energy and infectious laugh will be missed by many friends and relatives for years to come!

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Penn State IFC/Panhellenic Dance Marathon (THON), benefitting kids with pediatric cancer:

I’m so sorry for the loss of this beautiful young woman. Rachel had an amazing smile and a great laugh. She was kind to those she met. I’m glad to have known her, even if it was a for a brief moment of time we call high school. My condolences to her family and friends. My heart goes out to you all.
